Bringing Joy, Meaning and Purpose Back to Teaching and Learning:  Utilizing Restorative Practices in Education

When we take time in schools to be intentional about creating communities that are healthy, safe, engaging, supportive, and challenging, not only are students more successful academically, their overall wellbeing improves, they are more compassionate and they are able to make a positive contribution to society. In this highly engaging and interactive workshop, participants will experience the 5 Strategies of The Virtues Project for bringing out the best in ourselves and others.  The Virtues Project was honored by the United Nations, endorsed by the Dalai Lama and is being used to transform schools and communities in over 100 countries. 1.  Use language to build trust and increase hope, engagement, and well-being.

2.  Recognize teachable moments to develop resiliency, grit & authentic self-esteem.

3.  Utilize virtues based boundaries and sharing circles to create safer schools and end the school to prison pipeline by promoting self-discipline, personal responsibility & integrity.

This workshop is for educators who are working in preK-12 settings, especially those who are experiencing compassion fatigue and could use a burst idealism along with practical, powerful strategies for transformation.
